Alex Baldwin joined HealthCentral in June 2006 and is the company’s Executive Vice President and General Counsel. Prior to joining HealthCentral, Baldwin was a Junior Partner in the Corporate Department of WilmerHale, a leading international law firm, where he had worked since 1997. At WilmerHale, Baldwin worked on a broad range of corporate transactions primarily for technology companies, venture capital funds, and investment banks. Baldwin has significant M&A, securities and venture capital experience, having worked on more than 20 M&A transactions worth over $1.3 billion in the aggregate, 11 public securities offerings and private placements raising over $1.6 billion in the aggregate, and 16 venture capital financings raising more than $150 million in the aggregate. Baldwin also advised public and private companies on corporate governance matters, including board and stockholder issues, SEC reporting and compliance, stock incentive plans, employment matters, and charter and by-law issues.
Prior to joining WilmerHale, Baldwin worked for three years as a research analyst for Washington Policy and Analysis, an energy and environmental consulting firm. Baldwin wrote and presented research reports analyzing developments in U.S. federal energy and environmental policy for international energy companies and foreign governments.
Baldwin has a B.A. in History from Yale University and a J.D. cum laude from University of Michigan Law School.
