West Coast-based Nanduri promoted to fill vital role in leading online health company.
Arlington, VA (March 8, 2010) – HealthCentral, the leading collection of online condition-specific consumer health and wellness experiences, announced today that Sastry Nanduri will become Chief Technology Officer, driving the company’s global engineering efforts. Nanduri, formerly Vice President of Engineering at HealthCentral, joined the company in January 2009 with the acquisition of healthy-living resource Wellsphere.com. As CTO, he will oversee all aspects of technology and product implementation at HealthCentral.
Nanduri’s 20-year career has focused on creating innovative technological solutions for real-world problems. While Vice President of Engineering at Wellsphere, Nanduri built a unique technology to decipher highly specific health information to match user search queries, which, combined with the company’s largest collection of vetted bloggers, led to exponential growth in unique visitors from 2008 to 2009. Before joining Wellsphere, Nanduri worked on a broad range of products and technologies, including Erwin, the world’s most popular data modeling tool; NetStudio, a web-graphics creation tool that won the best of show award at Internet World conference for its ease of use; Spinfrenzy, one of the first online teen community sites; and OneChannel’s DPMA, an enterprise decision process management platform.

Nanduri holds technical degrees from the Indian Institute of Technology and the Georgia Institute of Technology. He currently resides in San Francisco bay area and will continue to work from the company’s West Coast office in San Mateo.
