The SEM Specialist will be responsible for coordinating search engine marketing efforts with large online search engines such as Google, Yahoo, and Bing/MSN to support traffic needs while managing the costs to ensure efficiency, accuracy, and quality. The SEM Specialist will report directly to the SEO Manager and work closely with Advertising Operations , Marketing, and Accounting teams to build a better understanding of HealthCentral’s audience, develop skills for supporting sales efforts, report numbers for billing purposes, and manage costs. This position is based in our Arlington, VA office.
Responsibilities
- Manage the purchase and delivery of search engine marketing campaigns by developing effective keywords, optimizing ad copy, and maintaining a high margin
- Coordinate with the Audience Knowledge team to manage and research SEM campaign efficiency and quality
- Coordinate with the Marketing team to provide traffic estimates to new pages and ensure delivery and client satisfaction
- Coordinate with the VP of Advertising Operations and the Marketing team to provide pricing input for proposals to clients
- Work with the Accounting team to provide numbers for our monthly billing process
- Work with clients and agencies to ensure transparency into ad programs’ performance
Qualifications
- Strong analytical skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel
- Some experience with SEM
- Experience with web analytics tools; Omniture experience is a plus
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced work environment with tight deadlines
- Ability to be articulate in both verbal and written communication
