Hepatitis C is a virus-caused liver inflammation which may cause
jaundice, fever and cirrhosis. Persons who are most at risk for
contracting and spreading hepatitis C are intravenous drug users.
The virus may sometimes be acquired through unprotected sex with
infected partners.
