What are my options?

By tomhole Friday, September 21, 2007

I have suffered from chronic, severe (every day) indigestion with acid reflux for over 20 years.  I have never been treated or diagnosed.  I did start on Prilosec OTC about 6 months ago and that has controlled the indigestion to about once a week.  Now I am learning about GERD and I am worried there might be damage to my throat.  I have a persistent sore throat, coughing and chest pain.  What are the chances that I have severe problems in my throat?  I am going to consult with my doctor and I think I should accept nothing less than an endoscopic examination of my throat.

Very worried in MD,
