Heartburn Friendly Banana Bars Recipe

    Banana Bars. If you are traveling this Thanksgiving, bring along a batch of these bars for breakfast. This will make a healthy and reflux friendly start to the next day!


    3 Tbs. butter, softened
    1 1/2 cups sugar

    2 eggs
    3 medium mashed, ripe bananas
    1/2 cup applesauce
    1 tsp. vanilla extract
    2 cups all-purpose flour
    1 tsp. baking soda
    pinch of salt


    Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Coat a cake pan with cooking spray.

    In a mixing bowl, beat the butter and sugar until crumbly, about two minutes. Add the eggs, beating well. Beat in the bananas, applesauce and vanilla. Slowly add in the flour, baking soda and salt, stirring just until blended.

    Bake for 20 - 25 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean. Serve with a dollop of your favorite yogurt on top.
