Caramelized Pears. Pears are a "go to" food for my son with acid reflux disease. Caramelizing the pears is a great way to create a simple and delicious dessert.

    4 Tbs. butter
4 medium Bartlett pears, peeled, pitted and halved

    1/2 cup brown sugar
    1/4 cup chopped walnuts

Melt the butter in a large skillet on medium heat. Place the pears in the skillet, cut side down. Cook the pears until they begin to turn golden brown, about 5 - 6 minutes. Add the brown sugar and continue to cook until caramelized, about five minutes. Remove from the skillet from the heat, and sprinkle the pears with the chopped walnuts. Serve warm.
