Dear Sam, Surgery is a big deal. It is always a cause for worry and questions. When surgery is being considered for reflux, it usually means that a person is having some complications and issues that are affecting quality of life such as sleep and eating. My daughter had surgery for reflux a few years ago but I remember it like it was yesterday. Be sure to find a surgeon who is very familiar with the procedure. Make your giant list of questions and make sure you get an answer to each question. Most studies show that children and adults have an excellent outcome from the surgery. I hope you feel comfortable with your decision and have a positive outcome too.
