Hello,

I have a question that I would hope someone can help me out with. I had chest discomfort with the feeling of needing to burp but couldnt. I was afraid it was a heart attack and went to the emergency room. This was November of 2007 (3 months ago) I was given an ekg and also a chest xray and both were said to be good. The ER doctor  told me it was gerd and gave me a prescription of nexium which I took for about 2 weeks and they did wonders. I stopped having my symptoms and stopped using the nexium. There were only a few pills left. Well The last 3 days I started having the feelings of discomfort in my chest and when I burp there is a burning feeling in my throat along with food trying to come back up. I called my regular doctor and told her I was seen at the er and they prescriped me nexium and she called in a prescription for me. I just started taking them yesterday. I am just really scared that it may be a heart attack. Since I did have an ekg and a chest xray 3 months ago and they were both good would it be necessary to have to have them both again. If they were both good 3 months ago could there be damage to my heart within the 3 months that would make me have a heart attack?  There are no other symptoms other than chest discomfort and constant burping.  NO PAIN IN LIMBS, NO COLD/HEAT SWEATS, NO NAUSEA
