4 month old with silent gerd

By nickolodeus Saturday, October 30, 2010

Hello,

I'm hoping you may have some insight into our situation. Our 4 month old son has displayed all the symptoms of silent GERD since birth,  but is consistently in the 90+ percentiles for weight/height, so our pediatrician has not considered silent GERD, (although my husband and I have suspected it).  Today, I switched doctors and finally found someone who can offer a possible solution for a baby who is obviously in pain (as we kept telling our former doctor). After picking up the rx this evening, We gave him his first dose of zantac (liquid, 2 ml every 12 hours), but it is Friday evening and it is difficult to find anyone who can advise as to when to administer the med. Before nursing? after? Any advice would be much appreciated. Also, after what time period might we see some improvement in him? thanks much,

jan

Hello! I emailed you privately too. I am glad you found a doctor to listen and help you with the pain.

Good luck, Jan
