Any one that might be thinking about having this new surgery DO NOT DO IT!!!! I had the surgery in Feb. 09 at OSU with Dr. Melvin. It was a life altering disaster! I nearly DIED! They had to do 3 surgeries, 4 blood transfusions and 3 bags of plasma just to keep me alive . I ended up spending 2 days in ICU hanging on by a thread. Recovery took 3 months and I am a young (43) healthy person. Infact, they told me at the hospital that " I was very lucky that I was as strong as I was". My acid reflux is WORSE and I have been told that correcting my GERD  the insion way, would now be very difficult. This  has been a nightmare and it only costed $75,000!
