Sometips:
-Eat your big meal at lunch instead of at dinnertime.
-Eat at least two to three hours before lying down. Eliminate late-night snacking.
-Avoid foods that are known to lead to heartburn.
-Sleep with your head and shoulder on an incline.
-Make sure your bed clothes are loose-fitting.
-Sleep on your left side. Studies have shown that this position aids digestion and helps with the removal of stomach acid. -Sleeping on the right side has been shown to worsen heartburn.
Aside from the fact that my name is Tracy and my son, Ben, has reflux, I wanted to thank you for your postings. Very helpful with child #2, Ella, since she, too, suffers. The zantac that worked for Ben isn't helping too much with Ella, and I'd love to be able to tell my doctor what has worked for others. Suggestions?

My toddler (20 months) is taking Nexium since 8 months. We are trying to stop the treatment by giving the medication in alternate days. Now he is taking 1 envelop each week. Can I stop with the medication ?
Does the doctor want you to decrease the medication little by little and then stop it altogether? I would follow the schedule the doctor recommends for decreasing the medication until he is weaned off of it. If the symptoms return, call the doctor right away. From the other post you wrote, it sounds like he is having some weight and feeding issues so you need to be careful.
