Friday, September 05, 2008 at 10:42 AMHi David,
Providing recipes is tricky business, because everyone reacts differently, especially if they have a sensitive stomach and acid reflux disease. However, I keep throwing ideas out there, just because as a mother and a caregiver of a son with severe acid reflux disease, this has been my greatest challenge. So, in terms of chocolate, what seems to work with my son, is to sift out some chocolate chips from a wheat free, dairy free, gluten free cookie mix, and then use it sparingly for decorations on things like cookies and cupcakes. This may not work for some, but if you are really missing chocolate, maybe you could start with just a couple of chocolate chips and see how well they are tolerated? Of course the key is to not try any new foods for a day or two after that, so you will really be able to tell if you tolerated it or not.
Hope that helps!

I thought that chocolate is a no-no for GERD sufferers. But you have chocolate chips in one of your recipes for GERD meals. Please explain. I love chocolate but have not been eating it for that reason.
