Every 5 to 10 years I get a colonoscopy. When I've had them before, I had no problem drinking the Nulytely liquid prep, although it did make me nauseous at times. But now I have acid reflux. I've just gotten it under control and am taking Nexium. Am down to 20 mg a day and doing okay if I avoid trigger foods.
My question is whether anyone here has had reflux problems from the liquid colonoscopy preps? The one I have to use contains a lot of salt and citrus flavoring (the only flavor I seem to tolerate well), and cistrus and too much salt are reflux triggers for me. I'd hate to have reflux pains during the prep and not be able to take any Tums, Mylanta, etc. for the reflux discomfort. But maybe I'm worrying for nothing. Have any of you had experience with this? I'm hoping the prep won't be too hard on my reflux. Thanks very much.
