H2 blockers side effects

I have been using Pepcid OTC for several months now for GERD and have experienced increased fatique along with waking during the night and not being able to go back to sleep. I was wondering if anyone else has this problem and what I should do about it. I also take Xanax before bed (have done this for about 8 yrs ) and wondered if there is some kind of reaction between these two drugs. My fatique lasts all day along with some mild dizziness and some times a headache. I cannot tolerate the PPI's because the cause headaches. Any suggestions as to how to handle this problem?

I, too, have GERD and am taking Nexium for it and I am also on Xanax at night to help me sleep. There are no interactions between the two meds but I suggest you go to your MD as it seems to me that there are other underlying health issues causing your fatigue, dizziness, etc. It could be a number of things so I really do think you should seek expert help for these problems without hesitation. Hope I've helped you.

When you use these medications it decreases the acid in your stomach which also means you don't absorb Vit B12. I take an oral supplement of B12 everyday and have felt much better.
