    Hello Hayley,

I am glad you found HealthCentral. There is much information and support here. I hope some other parents will share their ideas with Hayley too.

The main treatments for reflux include:

    Medication

    Diet

    Positioning

It sounds like you and your doctor have tried several medications and your son is still vomiting. Has the medication helped in other ways such as reducing pain? Do you see any other symptoms such as coughing/choking or fussiness/crying?

I wonder what type of diet you have tried. Some babies need to be on a special diet. Could your baby be allergic to food?

    Let me know.

Hi, my granddaughter was doing the same thing and is the same age. Ttried a few things like you have then they sent her to an allergist and she was allergic to milk, eggs, pets and other things. We now give her soy milk and watch what we feed her and she is doing better.I would try to get her into an allergist and see if that helps.

Hi there, my baby boy is 14 months old. He is adopted, and he was born drug exposed (happy healthy boy except for the GERD). He has extreme GERD, and after 6 different formulas we found that Aluimentum works great, and also he is on Reglan, Prilosec, and Ranitidine the combo of those drugs works great!!! We are trying to ween him off the Ranitidine because of possible side effects but for now he needs it. ALSO....we try the obvious we keep him off of greasy, oily, spicy, acid foods (tomatos, pizza, fried food, pinnaple, oranges ect...). One last little tid bit,is we have noticed that with his GERD he can only drink distilled water, and little fiber regular water and juice run right through him. We limit his fruit and whole grains and suppliment him with vitamins from Shakley! =) Hope this helps, who knows maybe your son has out grown it by now, that would be great!!! =)
