About Me

I'm a "zebra not a horse" in medical lingo. I was had 3 forms of radiation to my face by the time I was 3 months old: Cobalt, radium and radon. Now my cerebellum is atrophied on the left side and I show signs of brain stem and multiple nerve damage. My life is filled with challenges. As I grow older, it is harder to adjust to new and worsening medical conditions but I try hard to rise to the challenge and live my life a day at a time. I don't feel sorry for myself. Attitude and a postitive outlook focusing on what I can do and a strong belief in Jesus has seen me through 19 surgeries and more to come. I know without a shadow of a doubt and have been told by doctors that I am a walking miracle. I may walk crooked and on my toes with very poor balance but I'm still on two feet with the help of leg braces and a walker. Sometimes I have to use a wheelchair. Twice I had to learn to walk again after losing the ability to walk. It's ok. Life is a journey and there's a lot of people to meet out there wherever you are, wherever you go. I'm not leaving this world until my time is up. I'll go gladly then.
