Hello.

I need your advice. I think I may have acid reflux but am not sure. My symptoms are reoccurring vomiting (sometimes the vomiting will last days, or every other week, sometimes even just once or twice a month) but its not regular vomit, its like a clear/white filmy thick like cream, chest pain, nausea after eating anything and sometimes leads to vomiting, stomach pain and a burning sensations in my upper belly. I bloat a lot and it seems like it takes forever for my food to digest. I also have lots of indigestion and it is really painful. I am not sure if this is acid reflux disease or something more serious. Could you please give me your feedback.

Thanks

Acid Reflux Complications

Chronic Nausea and Vomiting are characteristics of acid reflux. Nausea that persists for weeks or even months and is not attributable to a common cause of stomach upset may be a symptom of acid reflux. In rare cases, vomiting can occur as often as once a day. All other causes of chronic nausea and vomiting should be ruled out, including ulcers, stomach cancer, obstruction, and pancreas or gallbladder disorders.

If you are having continued trouble, you should see your doctor immediately. Together, you should be able to determine a more effective course of action to treat your condition.

Please let us know what your doctor says and what your plan is. If you have any more questions or concerns, please feel free to post them here.

Thank you and good luck!

I have been spitting up blood for about a year. An endoscopy revealed I have GERD. I take nexium and other prescription meds for Atrial Fibrillation and high blood pressure and have changed my diet. I am now using an adjustable bed to elevate my esophagus at night. The specialist said there is no evidence of cancer and that surgery is not required. I am 78 years old. How can heal my esophagus to the point there is no longer blood?
