Question
I have a diet that helps me, plus the medication, but it seems that when I do much exercise, like walking and climbing, my body plays up and is not able to digest the food, which normally suits me. Is this something to do with the gullet being sensitive? I find it very frustrating because I need exercise to keep me fit.
Answer
It is best to exercise on an empty stomach, optimally waiting two hours after a meal. This is certainly true for weightlifting, squatting and high impact aerobic exercise. Light weightlifting and aerobic exercise such as yoga, stationary bicycle and light treadmill is more well tolerated, but even then, waiting one hour after a meal would decrease the chance of one having difficulty.
