I took PREVACID with my fourth and fifth pregnancies. My fourth child and pregnancy was textbook. My fifth resulted in my first daughter being stillborn in my 34th week of pregnancy. The cord and placenta appeared fine. An autopsy and genetics testing is being done. Has anyone had a similar experience? I cant help but wonder if I could have prevented this by toughing through the acid reflux or if I just want to find a reason.

I'm so sorry this happened to you.  I can't say that I have any experience with Prevacid.  My daughter was stillborn at 27 weeks either due to Mono (which they never diagnosed me with; but my husband got it shortly after, with ALL the same symptoms and he was diagnosed) OR due to the Vicodin that they prescribed me for the pain.  Of course I was told that it was safe, and I just took their word for it.  I can't help but feeling like I could have done more too.  It's natural to feel this way; but we learn from our experiences, and I will say that I am much more careful now about just taking the advice I'm given without really checking into it.  But really, how were we to know?  We're not the ones that went to medical school for so many years.  Again, I'm really sorry for your loss.  Allow yourself time to grieve and to heal.

Is nexium good & have no side effects for pregnant women?

I had severe heartburn during my 5 pregnancys, but no Acid Reflux.  It started when I was 43 and had moved out of State and gained 40 lbs. after quitting Smoking.  I have been treating it with Zantac, Rolaids and Tums, then got to using Prilosec, then Nexium.  I am now taking Prilosec and tried taking none for 2 months.  I used a lot of Tums, then went back to the Prilosec.  I worry about the long term effect, so am going to try to quit Prilosec again and eat more fruit which seems to help a lot.  I feel that the weight gain was my downfall, and am trying to lose those extra lbs.
