My acid reducer for acid reflux caused my IBS. I have Barretts which is a precancerous condition of the esophagus caused by acid reflux. My doctor suggested more fiber to help control the symptoms of the IBS because not taking the acid reflux medicine could change the cells from Barretts to cancer.
