Honoring Jan Gambino

  • As many of you may have heard Jan Gambino passed away this week. She will be greatly missed by many. I myself have known Jan for over 8 years. We worked together at PAGER as well as here at Health Central.

I met Jan in the same way that many of you met also met her. She helped me to navigate my oldest daughter's journey through the reflux rollercoaster. When I didn't know quite what to do next, or what was "normal" for reflux Jan was the person that I called. She always had a ton of information as well as compassionate support for me and for my children.

If I happened to post to Health Central about one of the girls' most recent issues with reflux, Jan would e-mail me. "Just checking on you" she would write. Always concerned for the reflux babies that grew up before her eyes. These kids were her passion.

I can not put into words what that kind of support has meant to me over the years we dealt with infant reflux. It was literally a sanity saver and life saver. Some of her advise helped us to take, what could have been life threatening issues, more seriously. She empowered us to talk with our doctors when we felt we were banging our heads against the wall.

So, thank you Jan. To Jan's family:  Thank you for sharing her with us over the years.  You are all in our thoughts and prayers.

Toy Block Music is also donating all of their proceeds for today to PAGER in honor of Jan.
