The most important part of any surgical procedure is to make sure that it is the best option. Surgery is surgery, no matter how "simple."
I would also encourage you to make a connection with a medical team where NO BLAME is assigned, especially to a child. At it's best, healthcare is an artform and full of complexities. I hope you can find a medical team in which you feel supported and respected when you voice your concerns.
