DOES ANYONE HAS ANY INFORMATION ON INFANTS AND BABY SEATS -- DOES ANYONE KNOW THE BEST WAY TO GO FOR THE REFLUX.  MY BABY SCREAMS THE WHOLE TIME SHE'S IN THE CAR SEAT -- WE NEED TO GET A DIFFERENT ONE THAT HOPEFULLY WON'T HER HER SO MUCH.  PLEASE E-MAIL ME WITH ANY SUGGESTIONS -

    Dear Liz,

This is a tough question. I hope some other moms and dads offer their suggestions and stories too.

Sometimes babies with reflux cry in their car seats due to the positioning. The seat squishes the stomach and causes painful reflux. Older babies seem uncomfortable with the motion of the car and may become car sick.

    You can try:

Driving only on an empty stomach.

Get all of the burps out before going for a drive.

    Try short drives for now.

Try the car seat at home and see if adjusting the straps helps. You may be able to place a small blanket or towel inside the bottom of the seat to lessen the angle/sitting position. Does she cry in the car seat in the house? Could you use it in the house a few minutes a day and increase her exposure to the seat gradually?

I assume you have her in a rear facing seat. Can someone sit next to her and offer a toy, soothing pacifier or blanket?

    Hope this helps. Jan
