I've been on Zantac for over two years, along with several chf heart medications. A while after I was prescribed these meds, I developed some itchy red bumps on my legs and torso. Eventually it moved to my shoulder and then head. Finally, I decided to eliminate Zantac and the itching on my head stopped and the bumps calmed down. But the bumps continued, even though calmer than before, so I talked to my pharmacist and he suggested I stop taking spironolactone. When I stopped, the rash calmed down again. But then my ulcer, acid reflux pain and problems returned so I started taking Zantac again, and the itching on my shoulders and head returned! So I switched to Pepsid AC and my head still itches. So I've stopped taking them both. I really need the reflux/ulcer med, but the itching is too much! I can't afford to try every med on the market, can you tell me what ingredient might be causing the problem and if there is an ulcer med that doesn't have it? Thanks.
