Hi ,

I am not sure if I am at right place but i have exprienced a strange problem. Since last more than 10 years, I am experiencing sour test in mouth sometimes. When I eat some sweets or tea or coffee or spicy food, i feel sour mouth and have bad breath.

Could you please advice what is this problem and how to cure it?

For at least the past 5 years, I have noticed GERD symptoms that correlate with my monthly cycle. Right before my period--flare up. At midcycle--same thing. Yes, I have spoken to my doctor about it, and I've been taking a PPI for at least that long (along with a calcium supplement based on new information he read and passed along to me). I'm just wondering if I'm the only woman out there who has this problem.

I thought that having my gallbladder removed 2 years ago would solve the problem, but I was wrong. Frown  Looks like I'm just going to have to wait until menopause, which isn't too far off. (I'm 46)

How common is GERD associated with the monthly cycle?

Hello Dawn, I have heard of this too. You are not alone. I hope others will share their stories. I wonder if there is a difference on and off the PPI. Sometimes careful eating during the flares as well as extra fluids may help too.

Dawn, I am 21 years old and experience SEVERE GERD up to 2 weeks before my menstral cycle. Although college life brings on stress, nothing makes my heartburn symptoms flare up like before im going to be on my monthly cycle. If I have to wait till menopause for it to go away then I have a longg wayy to go. I have seen my doctor about it and she simply says it's stress and to take over the counter meds. I have yet to find anything that works. but you're not alone.
