Throughout the week Jan will be updating the community in a series of posts on the latest research from the American Academy of Pediatrics Conference.
The American Academy of Pediatrics Conference brings together pediatricians and other medical providers from around the world for sessions on a wide range of health topics. Sessions are held from early in the morning until 10pm at night. Don’t worry-dinner is served at the 7-10pm session!
I am attending the meeting to find out what is new in the field of pediatrics with a special focus on Gastroesophageal Reflux, diet and nutrition. There are plenty of speakers and sessions to choose from. Over the next few days, I will give you the highlights of the meetings I attend. While I am at the meeting, I will also visit the exhibit area and let you know about any new products and services that are of interest to parents of infants and children with reflux.
The American Academy of Pediatrics or AAP is the professional organization of pediatricians in the United States. You can imagine that this is a big organization with a great deal of influence. The AAP has established guidelines for pediatricians to follow on all aspects of health care for infants to adolescents. You might want to check out the AAP website for information on a variety of health topics and an extensive audio file called “A Minute for Kids”. Visitors can even search for free and low cost health insurance for children.
