New Product Alert: AR Pillow

Jan Gambino Health Guide
  • Like many Reflux Moms, Liz, the inventor of the AR Pillow didn’t intend to develop a product or run a company. She was desperate to help her son Aidan, who cried incessantly from reflux. The doctor advised her to hold Aidan at a 30 degree angle after each meal, a strategy that worked but her arms and back ached from the effort. She tried positioning him upright in a car seat but that made his reflux worse. Out of desperation, she created a wedge and harness that really worked.  AR Pillow was born and now the wedge and harness combination are widely used by parents around the world.

Liz told me, “I was worried about using medication to treat my baby with reflux. The AR Pillow is a non-medication approach to treating the symptoms of reflux. There are no side effects, unlike medications that have the potential to cause harm.” In addition, the AR Pillow can be for babies and children with asthma, sinus congestion and allergies, offering improved sleep.

The original AR Pillow is a wedge and harness system for holding a baby with reflux or colic at a 30 degree angle for sleep or play. Recently, the company expanded its product line and introduced a Preemie Bassinet Pillow, Elevated Changing Station and a Snuggle Nurser. There is also a Child/Adult Pillow for use by older children and adults. In the near future, AR Pillow will carry a new line of preemie and newborn diapers.

After talking to hundreds of parents around the world, it is clear that infant reflux is common throughout the world. It seems the AR Pillow is traveling the globe too. Liz told me she has shipped the AR Pillow to such far flung places as Kuwait and Dubai. A family in India had an AR Pillow shipped to a friend in the US and it was hand carried on a non stop flight. I shipped an AR Pillow to a new aunt in Massachusetts and she put it in the overhead compartment of a flight to Panama to see her new nephew with reflux.

All of the AR Pillow products are covered by insurance. Check with your individual policy or contact AR Pillow for assistance with insurance company reimbursement codes to authorize payment.
