On the eve of Mother’s Day, I logged on to the www.salary.com website to calculate my salary as a Reflux Mom. Each year, www.salary.com calculates the hourly pay of typical “jobs” performed by moms to come up with a yearly salary for a stay at home mom.

Absolutley, I read a post one time about my many hats. Your post reminds me of that. Mothers wear many hats on a daily basis anyway, but add the special needs---the extra appointments, meds, positions, special foods, etc etc that go along with it and it's amazing how many professions a mother works during just one day!
Thanks for the reminder that we are monetarily highly underpaid, but extremely blessed and rewarded to have been "handed" the opportunity to spend more time with our children and to care for them. That we were forced into having to not work away that precious time and look back and realize our babies were grown. To have our children remember that we were there holding their hand when they had to get a shot (or in our case, many other medical tests)---and we made them feel better and it that it hurt us worse than it hurt them.
Yes, the toll caring for sick children is great one, but the love your child receives and the fact that you as a parent realize that every day you wake up with them is a blessing---well that's priceless!
