How large is your hiatal hernia? It is so final when you go the surgical route and the result is the same as prior to the surgery or even worse. I do have the hiatal hernia for approxly 3 years, but I have been trying to treat it naturally; by eating my vegetables and fruits and also having green juice and other vegetable juices.
If I over eat, lie down less than 3 hrs after meals or bend over after eating I will have the reflux, which comes up into my mouth and cause a slight sore throat and sometimes give me mouth ulcers. Based on that, I do become scared fearing cancer of the oesophagus.

Hello! It is so important to find out more about these new surgical techniques for treating GERD. You need to find a doctor who will explain the pros and cons of each type of procedure compared to a traditional fundoplication. Ask for a second opinion and discuss the different options with your gastroenterologist.

hi i have been suffering from a hatial hernia and gerd for 5 yrs now some days i feel like i'm having a heart attack to a point I went to see a heart specialist. all was ok. my GI told me that surgery does not always work, and wen its done you can not longer burp or vomit??? someting to think about..... I guess we suffering people have to eat a trick diet and hope with new madical research that one day they will find a cure thats works!!!
