uncomfortable acid reflux

well i have had acid relux 4 about a month now..i dont know what to do..it wont go away,im taKING carafate ..how does this go away??how does the acid in your throat go away....its very uncomfortable i haVE SEVERE CHEST PAIN AND I have trouble swallowing..what can i do??it is really starting to scare me nd im only 16..what can i do for these...
