At a Glance

Most people will experience some acid reflux symptoms at some point in their lives.  People at risk for persistent acid reflux issues include women who are pregnant, people who are overweight or obese, people with unhealthy eating patterns (eat high-fat foods and large meals often), people with respiratory diseases including chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.  About half of American adults have acid reflux symptoms monthly.
