Nissen Fundoplication Surgery is one of the most invasive, but effective surgeries to treat persistent and severe acid reflux. During the procedure, the physician wraps the upper part of the upper part of the stomach completely around the esophagus to form a collar-like structure. The procedure requires a six- to 10-day hospital stay.
