Q: I am having a lot of difficulty swallowing and it has persisted for 3+ months, please help...

I was diagnosed with breast cancer last fall, had a lumpectomy and radiation.  I am having a terrible time swallowing, a lump in my throat, a persistent sore in the right side of my nose, nausea, pain in the right side of my chest, and a very dry mouth and thick clear mucus.  My dr prescribed nexium, verapamil (neither worked) and sent me to have a barium swallow and there appeared to be somewhat of a narrowing in my esophagus but no signs of any other problems. I also went to an ear, nose and throat specialist and he put tubes down my nose and throat and did not see anything.  My next appt is for an ultrasound.  Anyone have any idea where to go from here... I am concerned as they say cancer can reappear anywhere in the body.  Does this go away???

Hello Angel,

Have you discussed this with your oncologist? It might make sense to update him/her about your new symptoms.
