Q: Why does one tablet of Prilosec OTC last for 5-7 days b4 I need to take another tablet??

Hi!

A long time ago, I started a 14 day regime of Prilosec, just like the directions say. After the 2nd day I stopped. Mainly cause of belly aches. I felt that the acid production in my stomach was being suppressed too much! I did not start to get excess stomach acid until about a week and a half later. Then I noticed I only needed to take Prilosec about once every 5 to 7 days. Why is this? Why do they tell u too take it for 14 days straight, when u really only need to take it once every several days?

I get the kind of stomach acid from eating and/or drinking either 2 fast or too much and if I recline myself or lean back, the burning will go away.

Thanks,

Rich G.
