Edward, There are plenty of over the counter and prescription medication available for Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease. I highly recommend going to the doctor for advice on which treatment would be best for your symptoms. If cost is a factor, keep in mind that many pharmacies now offer a low cost co pay for common prescription medications. I know Safeway foodstores and Walmart both have a program.
