Q: Are there any known long term negative effects of nexium...... i have been taking over 4 years ?

Jack, I hope that you receive an answer to your question.  The doctor just announced that because of Barrett's, I will need to take Nexium for life.  I've seen that Nexium is generally given for 4 or 8 weeks, and sometimes 4 additional weeks.  When I read about liver concerns, it does make me wonder.  But Barrett's is a serious concern as well, with cancer a possibility.  This is why I hope you learn something about Nexium's long term effects on both the conditon as well as the liver and overall health.  I'll be looking for answers...  Richard
