Is it possible to have flank-area pain from Crohn's?

I was diagnosed with Crohn's almost 11 years ago & had major surgeries/complications within a few months of being diagnosed. I believe I have had many "flare-ups" over the years only to be told by my gastroenterologist it wasn't the Crohn's. Now I'm a bit confused about that as I know what it feels like. Over the past year or so I've developed pain on the left side/flank, kidney problems have been ruled out & it feels like pain from the Crohn's. Its nauseating, gnawing & sharp/stabbing @ times. My gastro doctor claims it's referred pain from constipation...but I'm not constipated & have told him that...I have the opposite problem! Can somebody please advise?!
