Long term use of proton pump inhibitors, like protonix, have been associated with calcium and vitamin loss. The loss of calcium would increase the risk of osteoporosis. Our nutritionist Jenn Rackley will be writing a post on this topic in an upcoming post. I will let you know when it's up on the site.
