Q: Acid reflux & choking

my infant granddaughter (4 months) has been diagnosed with acid reflux. This occurred after 4 episodes of not breathing. Has anyone else experienced this? We are terrified! She has been put on Zantac and Reglan.

Hello! My reflux baby used to get blue around the lips when I fed her. She did the same when I placed her on her back for diaper changes. She never stopped breathing but her blue lips were scary enough that I barely closed my eyes for months and watched her like a hawk.

Some babies need an apnea monitor. Is your grand baby under the care of a pediatric gastroenterologist or a pediatric pulmonologist?

The good news is that the breathing issues related to GERD get better as the baby grows.
