Doxycycline is an antibiotic drug whose effectiveness may be impaired by antacids.

Nexium, a Proton Pump Inhibitor is not an antacid, though it does reduce acid production. It shouldn't affect doxycycline. I used both Doxycycline (as an anti malarial drug) and omeprazole together whilst travelling in East Asia a few years ago. I later learned that Doxycycline is not recommended for anyone suffering from excess stomach acid as, like NSAIDs they can promote acid production.

I would suggest you discuss this with your pharmacist.
