Dear Ravi, Thank you for posting your message.   I would recommend reviewing the symptoms of reflux available on this website and keeping a journal. Write down how often the symptoms are occurring and take this information to the doctor. Is it burping or more of a loud belch? Does it seem wet like a wet burp or throw up?   Sometimes eating smaller meals and chewing carefully can reduce reflux symptoms. Sometimes burping and backwashing are caused by food allergies and intolerances. Be sure to write down a typical diet for a few days to present to the doctor. Sometimes adjusting the diet helps greatly.   While you can educate yourself about this topic, there is nothing like getting a full evaulation from the doctor and coming up with a treatment plan that is custom made for your child.   Take care, Jan Gambino
