Q: My husband gets acid reflux at night. Sometimes it comes up and he inhails it in his lungs. Then he starts to cough and it hurts him so bad, I never know what to do to help him. What can I do?

There are some preventive things that can be done. It may also be worthwhile writing down his reflux symptoms including how often and severe they are so that he can report this to his doctor.

If his symptoms continue or worse then it's time to see the doctor to confirm whether or not reflux is the cause and to develop a treatment plan.
