I am experiencing more times with trouble breathing, throat feels as if it is closing. I have be dx. with gerd and go to a dr. but on my last visit he didn't seem that concerned but it is happening more frequently.

Yes, happens to me too in a bad episode. Feels like something is blocking my throat. Don't panic - that is key. Relax, take your medication, drink water to clear the food pipe, and breathing will return to normal.

I get the same thing, it is a scary feeling, my Dr didn't seem overly concerned about it either until I strongly stressed this. Now he has scheduled me for a full pulmonary test. I hope that you feel better, I know the feeling is terrifying..
