can I take prevacid and gaviscon together? I take prevacid in the evening before dinner but still feel reflux symptoms at night despite not eating late, keeping my head elevated at night etc. . It was suggested that I take prevacid earlier in the day and take gaviscom before bed, as gaviscon creates a barrier for any acid that may break through. is this ok??

Hi Susan

On the advice of my doctor and pharmacist, I have been taking Prevacid first thing in the morning and then Gaviscon after each meal and before bed. I have had the most horrendous 3 months of my life (have severe oesophagitus) but I have continued the doctor's advice and I can finally see light at the end of this painful tunnel. I now only get moderate pain towards the afternoon - it seems worse when I get hungry. I have transformed my eating habits and reduced stress (I was a busy working mum and my hubby works away from home - so big stress levels there!). I have cut out all naughty foods and drinks, go for long walks, meditate and bliss...... it all seems to be working well, God willing. Hope this helps!
