Q: I gained over 30 pounds on Nexium, but now that I stopped the Nexium it isnt coming off.

I gained 30 pounds in just a few months on Nexium. I have always been able to walk, diet, aerobics, eat better, and the weight would come off.  This weight isn't.  Not even a pound. Does anyone have any suggestions?  Its been months of dieting.  I was taking a Nexium or two each week until recently.  I am not taking any now.

Hello Sharon, I am not familiar with weight gain as a side effect of Nexium. Maybe another HealthCentral member has some more experience with this.

Have you discussed this with the doctor? There are many reasons for weight gain. Maybe the doctor will need to see you and rule out other causes for the weight gain.
