Q: I've heard reports that Nexium has serious side effects, not known until recently. Iw this true?

Husband given prescription in ER this evening for Nexium.  We can't decide if it's safe to buy this particular drug.  Eight years ago, I contracted CHF from taking a diabetic medicine called Avandia.  We are doubly cautious, and know we have the right to know the real truth about Nexium.  Can you help?

Hello,

Ask the pharmacist to give you a copy of the FDA drug safety information about Nexium. It is a good idea to tell the doctor all of the medications you are taking to make sure there isn't a drug interaction when you are starting a new medication.
