Hello!

So sorry your little one has reflux. Just to let you know, new moms, moms of triplets and more all say reflux is very hard work. Make sure you have some extra helping hands from dad, friends or relatives. Trust me, you need a break from the crying and constant feeding and holding.

Ask the doctor for some assistance with the treatment plan. Let him/her know what you are seeing at home and ask if there is anything more to try.

Hi First time mommy, there are many of us like you on health central-- first time mommies with reflux babies. You will find lot of help and information from reading many of our share posts.

Reglan is a prokinetic drug, which means it causes stomach contents to move faster into the intestines causing the stomach to empty faster. This might be very helpful for a baby who has reflux because when food (especially liquids such as milk or formula) remains in stomach for too long reflux becomes worse. However, Reglan has worriesome side-effects that you need to be aware of. It's usually given when a child has severe projectile vomiting.

Could you request your doctor to check if you baby needs more than just reglan, or even something entirely different such as Zantac? Zantac reduces stomach acid and takes care of the colic like pianful symptoms. Other drugs such as priosec or prevacid could be tried with varying success too. Ask your child's pediatrician to refer you to a pediatric gastroenterologist. These doctors are more knowledgeble about reflux and slow motility. Good luck and do keep us posted.
