Q: Can taking an antiinflamatory medince and muscle relaxer cause break through bleeding?

NSAIDs have ulceration and break through bleeding as possible side effects especially if taken in large quantities even for a short period of time. Muscle relaxants do not list break through bleeding as a side effect but can cause stomach irritation and pain.

 

Bleeding can be bright red but you need to also watch for "coffee grind" like vomit and/or stool. These are signs of digested blood.

 

If you suspect internal bleeding it is important to see a doctor right away especially if you are feeling faint, or lightheaded.
