Thanks for your question. Hopefully you decided to see the doctor, because only he or she can figure out what may be wrong. In terms of GERD, symptoms sometimes manifest themselves in the throat. However, swelling of the throat to the point of not breathing is not listed there. Again, only a doctor can tell you what may be causing this.
